about meGreetings! My name is owen and this is my page. I'd prefer a much more badass name like "wolfgang" or "vegeta" but I can't blame my parents for not being as dope as I am. Speaking of me, I am an IT analyst who spends his free time as an artist. Most of my skill is in writing, but I dabble in drawing, programming, and even music. I've been described as a "big pink marshmellow" or a "genuine guy that anyone's lucky to be around" by some people in my past. Speaking of my past, I went to school for computer science since programming was the one discipline of art that I had a hard time of wrapping my head around. I took Japanese as electives during my time in college, and even lived abroad in Ikebukuro for a couple semesters. about my writingMy current writing goals are to produce work that push boundaries and encourage the reader to understand how much power just one person can hold. Please understand that my praxis's goal isn't to disencourage the reader's beliefs, but instead encourage them to apply critical thought to their own religion or philosphy. One example is that I like to mesh seemingly incompatibile ideas together, such as characters applying the scientific method to religious beliefs, in my writing with hope to encourage the reader to engage with dogma that has been laid before them. It may sound complicated, but I think you'll understand when you get your hands on my writing and read between all the gay people fighting with their mystical spirit powers. about my hobbiesI really, really love music. I listen to the shit they put on the radio, and I listen to the shit that only has six hundred views on YouTube. I'm listening to "Mad Man Moon" by Genesis as I type this, and I have "Pins And Needles" by The Birthday Massacre in my "play next" queue. My already eclectic taste exploded when I assimilated two iPods full of thousands of songs into my library while I was in Japan, and I would also just buy random cheap CDs to rip to my iTunes library while over there. I enjoy music that incorperates a narritive, like Emilie Autumn's "Opheliac" that expresses her frustrations with bipolar personality disorder, or Genesis's "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" album that tells the story of a young man finding peace within himself in a chaotic and unforgiving world. Click on the "Music" tab to be taken to a page that has my song recommendations. |
